Governance
At present, the ATSBA is not incorporated under the Animal
Pedigree Act.
Most animal registries in Canada are. At the moment we do not have
enough animals or owners and breeders to warrant the Minister
of Agriculture giving us recognition.
The formation of this organization is the first step towards growing
into an organization big enough to be recognized under the
Animal Pedigree Act.
The next steps include breeding and importing more
purebred stock.
Once a viable base population is established, it will be our
aim to have Akhal Teke blood represented in working and competing
horses in Canada.
Then, given adequate numbers, we will incorporate under the Animal
Pedigree Act and will be a government maintained registry.
